DESCRIPTION: PW lot (2) Illinois, Bunn Special with consecutive serial numbers, 24J, 18S, OF cases, white enamel DS dials, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapements, capped third wheels, jeweled barrel arbors, bright spotted pattern nickel damascene, s#1383025 and s#1383026. A rarely seen opportunity for the Illinois collector to put together a consecutive pair of this highly jeweled railroad grade watch.
CONDITION: S#1383025: Mvt: Ticking sluggishly on a full wind, overhaul recommended, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, some cloudy toning of main plate, some typical scattered micro-fine scratches and small surface spots, oxide to regulator assembly; excellent dial with some very small edge flakes under bezel, some perimeter scrape under bezel between 11 and 12 and between 3 and 4; excellent hands, finish loss to tip of minute; chrome-plated base metal OF case with locomotive engraving to rear, case shows very light wear, profuse micro-fine scratches, some small nicks to band, no dents, good engraving detail, mild chrome loss to portions of engraving area; tight bow, crown shows very light wear; glass crystal with very short scratch at left perimeter. S#1383026: Mvt: Ticking very sluggishly when dial side up and ticking stronger when dial side down, overhaul needed, fair cosmetic mvt condition overall, cloudy toning of plates, main plate and barrel bridge with reduced damascene definition and evident ultra-fine scratch striations from past wiping or polishing, some scratches around center jewel setting and balance jewel setting, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere, some mismatched jewel setting screws, oxide to regulator assembly; dial with scattered outer chapter hls, patched edge chips at 12 and 2, small flake to left rim of seconds-register, some small edge flakes under bezel; poor hour and minute hands with oxide and finish loss have been re-colored in black, excellent seconds-hand; gold-plated OF display case with threaded bezels, case shows hardly any wear, few small nicks, no dents; bow pivots freely, crown shows hardly any wear; good glass crystals.
